Sound Card or On Board Sound ?

sorry if this has been asked before but I wondered if I should get a seperate sound card, audigy etc or use the on board sound on the mobo.

I'm getting a DFI ultra board and was gonna buy some new speakers, I listen to mp3s on the pc and its mainly for games,

also could someone recommend a buget surround sound system ? dont have much to spend approx 40-50 quid.

sound card onboard sound cards are not nice imo
audigy's are gd sound cards and are prity cheap now

will prob go for the audigy, have no cash having blow it all on main parts so looks like its onboard sound for a couple of months with 2.1 poor speakers then decent SC and 6.1 surround.

With my AC97 onbord sound it took my fps down from 90 to 20 with 5,1 prosessing. Defs worth the £20 quid.

Onboard sound really hurts your performance, much the same way onboard video does.
