Samsung hard drives...

They come with a 3yr warranty, and are meant to be quieter than seagate baracudas - anybody have any experience?

Yes I have one - installed it in feb'03 and running well.It is quieter than the Seagate drive that i have.Haven't neededthe warranty as yet.

Hold on. Seagate drives are pretty dam silent, so those samsung things must be like the stealth bomber!

Sometimes just barely being able to hear the drive when its getting thrashed can be a good thing imho. I wouldnt actually like a 100% quiet drive... except for perhaps a living room system.
