Front panel connectors(Audigy 2 Platinum) Noob @Video Editing

Hi i have a Audigy 2 Sound card/capture card but without the Front panel connectivity in/output thingy. Now as i do video editing, Gaming etc my PC does'nt have any front connections. And what i need to know is, if i brought another make of Front panel, ie Keene do a simular one to Creatives Audigy Platinum but at half the price, will it work via my sound card (as Platinum does)or will i have to attach it via my mobo or run it through the back of my case? Maybe the video capture will work better if it was connected via the Mobo ! Any ideas on this?

Ps i recently installed a 4 port firewire pci card would that conflict with my Audigy 2 card?
Sorry if this sounds a silly Qs but as you can tell i am a noob at this Video Editing!
