    Computer wont boot

My carPC decided to just stop booting on me a few days ago & I am running out of ideas. It started off by just taking 30seconds longer to boot (a couple of times), then stopped altogether (not sure if these are related).

It is definitely getting power, and the only way i can get any signs of life out of it are when its 'turned on' and I unplug the 4 pin p4 power connector. When I do this the CPU fan spins up and nothing else happens. Plugging it in again kills the fan, unplugging it spins it back up etc.

...I have no idea what could be causing this & am really struggling to google anything useful. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

    Re: Computer wont boot

Could be a dead PSU or a short on the mobo. You'd need to whip it out and swap bits around to test it.

    Re: Computer wont boot

Tried a new PSU & same problem!

Tried new RAM as well, but tbh there is nothing else to swop out.

    Re: Computer wont boot

often with BGA chips they come away from the board which will stop the board from booting up.
You see this all the time with Laptops and the GPU is the number one suspect due to heat.

Look up fixing the YLOD on the PS3 with a heat gun, or you could oven bake the mobo. You have
nothing to lose as its already borked.
