Network broken?
Lo.
About 4 months ago I bought a SN41G2B Shuttle. It has a built in network adapter. Recently, the network adapter hasn't been showing up in Windows XP>Control Panel>Network Connections. Normally I would have '1394 Adapter', 'Wireless network connection' and 'Local Area Connection' - the last one representing the built in network adapter. Nowadays all I see is the '1394 Adapter' and 'Wireless network connection'. The built in network adapter seems to have disappeared.
I've tried forcing Windows to detect the built in adapter, and it doesnt find anything. I've also tried reinstalling the mobo drivers, that hasn't yielded a result either. I've also disabled/uninstalled the other network adapters in case these were the problem.
The result is the same whether or not I have anything plugged into the network adapter.
So I'm guessing the network adapter part of the mobo is dead and I need to send the Shuttle back? I just need to be sure before I do because I bought it from OCUK, and I don't want any hassle.

try bios settings - might be something turned off - normally 'internal mac adapter'

Okay, I've tried that, and it's still not working.
Any other suggestions, or do people reckon it's dead?

I had the same problem at the weekend with my new sn41g2, i even installed xp again and still didnt work, so i reset the cmos and bingo it worked.
try to fix it coz OCuk returns is slooooooooooow.

Yeah I haven't heard great things about OCUK returns, which is why I wanted to make extra sure.
Is resetting the CMOS just a case of popping the battery out, and then putting it back in again?
-
if ya have to send it back to OCUK ring them rather than email them as their email respsonse times are real bad.

Thanks for the tip. Will do :)

i reset the bios by pulling out power lead, then between the agp slot and pci there is a jumper u need to move it to pins 2-3 wait a few seconds then put it back to pins 1-2 and then plug power back in.
