Not me, at least not yet, I wanna wait a while see how things pan out, wait untill the chip technology is esablished.
For the moment my 2.8C ES PIV keeps me happy :)
I don't think I'll be buying either, I prefer much cheaper CPUs - but I think it would be cool to see some PCs in shops that look as good as the G5 - somehow I doubt compaq/hp will do the AMD-64 justice though...
Yeah, but you can see the Dell adverts now...
"With AMD Athlon 64bit technology you can process your tasks faster than ever before..."
Not for a long time
Same here, to be honest - the equipment I use now is completely fine, but when everyone else in the world has them, and they're coming down in price - I'll consider an upgrade :)
Don't mean to be pedantic but Dell only use Intel chips :pQuote:

But there’s no way im going to be going out and buying it yet, as said by Platinum im gonna wait a bit until the technology has matured a bit
cpu city already sold out of them...who the hell bought em then!? lol
Ill probably get one when i go to uni next year at the earliest , not before though.
I came soooo close to ordering one with the motherboard (everything in the shopping basket about to press enter...)
Just decided to cancel it and stick with what i got.
agent@ your 17?
christ... i thought i was young.

Well I just ordered a 2500XP + Barton so I wont be anyway :p
I am certainly gonna do it but I always resist being first on the block - gonna wait untill they drop in price a wee bit.
The whole point of overclocking for me is to buy a chip further down the range and clock it to equal or surpass that at the top end.
If I did, I'd get the FX version. The Athlon 64 is a bit pants tbh ...
Might switch to one when the athlon fx takes over 3d mark.
