Yes.
Would you suggest I get a new motherboard to OC higher also. And whatever else like maybe a Mobile 2400+

Yes to both, if overclocking is your only goal. If you want power as well you need to think about an A64 of some sort.
I was but nothing an really use the 64-bit as of yet...and they are making newer and faster ones...for what? Enthusiasts? They made a freaking 3700+ without any programs that can use the total power of the 64-bit.

A64s are much better 32-bit CPUs than athlon XPs.
Avoiding purcahcing something that is significantly faster dollar for dollar, just beacuse it has an extra feature that is not widely used yet is rather absurd.
You can get a 140 buck A64 3000+ that would be faster over clocked wth stock cooling than any Athlon XP overclocked with anything less than good water, in 32-bit OSes/programs.
There is very little reason to continue buying Athlon Xps unless you are very tight on money and really really need a cpu that is compatable with an old motherboard.
Hrm...me thinks time for an upgrade.

Yeah, you might aswell get some good stuff while you're upgrading - A64 chip, NF4 Mobo, maybe even a new GPU.

This Thread Is Useless Without A Link. :d
No the PCI-EX cards cost more than the AGP versions. And supposedly AGP is a faster version of PCI-EX. People have contraversy if its all just because of the new processor that the PCI-EX benefits.

sorry, i shouldve clarified myself, the newer pci-e cards are cheaper than the agp equivalent. probably due to the bridge chip needed for the agp ones.
im looking at the x800 xl and 6600gt both of which are probably what most would recommend in their respective price brackets. looking around at scan.co.uk, komplett.co.uk and overclockers.co.uk there is roughly a £30 increase in price to go for the agp version over the pci-e x800 xl. the same isnt true for all cards, sorry for the misunderstanding, but i'd reccomend the cards above if you are thinking of going for a new one at all!
as for agp being a faster version of pci-ex, well thats not really true as they work in different ways. agp replaced pci, and now pci-e is replacing agp. the speed difference either way is small at the minute, some argue that agp is faster (slightly) at low res and pci-e is faster (slightly) at high res due to the increased bandwidth, not everyone subscribes to this idea. but like choosing a socket 939 processor it has a better chance of being around the next time you want to upgrade - futureproofing.
edit: if you really want to stay agp, id still go for an x800xl, or maybe a cheap 6800nu (ive been very impressed with mine)
Over here in USA the exact opposite. The 6800 Ultra AGP is cheaper than the 6800 Ultra PCI-E. Its very wierd but I was thinking about 939 because of dual channel support.
This will require deep reading and late nights of talking to techies. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though.
And my father just upgraded his AMD Athlon 2000+ to a 3000+ and he bough a tweaked Gigabyte 6600 (GT?) AGP. I will soon plop it in and compare it at 1280x960 on Doom3 and HL2. Then I will know what I should do. My 5900 Ultra still beats cards in UT2k4 at lower res's and higher AA.

ahh, no its the same here, its only the ones that need the bridge chips that are cheaper. the 6800 ultra is a fantastic card, but you get much more 'bang for buck' from the x800xl, but hey if you can afford an ultra then go for it
sorry, didnt read that you're in the usa
have fun testing your cards out.
edit: just had a look on newegg.com and you seem to save $25 goin for pci-e on an x800xl....just a thought
Yeah I had an ATI but they dont O/C as well. And their control panels arent as pleasing.
Just my opinion.
