    Help.. no boot

I built a top spec PC for a guy...

Well I gave it to the guy last week and it was running great. He contracted the MSBlast and patched it... and also patched other things...

He started getting lotsa "program not responding" and also "msgsrv" problems.

He patched even more things and ....

    now it dont even boot...

he gets the LED's to come on... and thats about it.

now I aint had the pleasure of using this PC since its been like this, but its got power and usally a CPU problem will be displayed by BIOS.

    so...

    Graphics card?

    Saphire Radeon 9600pro NOT OVERCLOCKED

    PSU?

    Antec 400w

    System Spec

    XP3000+ barton
    Asus A7V600
    1Gb RAM
    Saphire 9600pro
    SB Audigy 2

Try uninstall everything then reinstall. Is he getting any specific errors messages? It doesn't sound like a hardware issue, try update all drivers to the latest set and see if that helps

    ill rephrase my message.

    "It wont boot"

e.g. no windows, no bios, no nothing just a blue LED for power.

Strip the PC down, see if theres anything physically wrong with it then rebuild it, you mite find as the weather has changed somethings moved slightly and a simple strip rebuild could sort it...

Was it transported by you/him, or did you use a courier service ? Its always dangerous sending whole computers, the heatsink weight is just one of the many strains if the box gets a little nock or, dare i say it, drop

Doesn't sound like a crushed core although strip it down anyways, reset CMOS definately, try the PSU in another system, try the RAM in another system.

I remember reading a while back that ATi cards we'rnt very compatible with VIA chipsets ... was that sorted or is that still a problem!
