    Question External HDD Caddys

    Im currently looking to put a 300GB drive in an external caddy, now most of them are either USB2, Firewire 400 & some with Firewire 800, does anyone know of any that have ethernet built in without going down the route of buying a linkstation?

    Ideally needs to have its own cooling system, are the Lacie drives worth the extra cost as I would prefer a caddy as I can then swap the drives...

    The linksys NSLU2 is probably your best bet. But it will only fit 2 USB drives, and only 10/100 ethernet

    or, alternatively you can hack the ASUS WL-HDD2.5" - that'll allow you to plug in any USB device (only v1.1) and make it wireless.

    It's dog slow, but an option! They're available for £49.99
