Newbie wants shuttle that fits a barton 2500+ and an AGP 6800GT (dual slot cooling!)

Was wondering if there was a shuttle that could handle a barton 2500+ with a board as flexible as Abit NF7... AND also able to stick a dual slot cooling leadtek 6800GT without the need to break my 200 quid christmas present.

    Cheers on any good advice

There are shuttles where the AGP slot isn't mounted on the side, but with one PCI slot in between, dunno the name anymore though sry.

My brothers has the pci slot after the agp.. I think its the SG2/5 and there might be a N in there somewhere... have a look on the shuttle site and see if theres any with similar name.. It has the nforce2 chipset..

not really... any SFF would do... was just a little sick of carrying my whole atx tower back and forth to my hometown anytime xmas comes around... any manufacturer would do... just as long as it sticks my dual slot 6800GT in...

No shuttle does that. Only the latest designs for the shuttle are able to hold dual slot cooling. Others makes might though.

biostar 200n is nforce 2 and fits a 9800pro with a revision 1 arctic silencer in it. not the new silencers tho as they have a bump sticking further out from the fan. see if you can find some dimensions and measure it up

ohhh, and its a lovely little system with great airflow if you put the hdd in the floppy bay. very quiet and cool.

You're wasting the power of that 6800GT. You need to sell the XP and go A64.

Biostars go case edge|PCI slot|AGP slot so plenty of space.

A Biostar 210v is under £100 inc VAT or if you decide to go A64 a 210P (nForce3 250GB chipset s754) is undr £150 inc

surely the AGP version sucks compared to the PCI-E arent you wasting your time going to all this trouble for a single AGP card and a mobo for AGP that does A64, just sell the pressie and save for a dual PCI-E set

Nowt wrong with a 6800GT and an XP working together, mine works flawlessly and very fast indeed! If he upgrades to A64 just for the sake of keeping up to date (or trying to look cool) then he'll probably also have to buy a new PCI-E card, which further adds to the fortune.

Going back to your original question, I don't think there is any Shuttle which will accept a dual slot card without the need of case modification, and those that I have seen can look pretty cool. If you don't have top notch modding skills, I wouldn't try it though.

More willy-waggling? Perhaps he doesn't have more money than brain cells and therefore doesn't fall for gimmicks like SLI, especially considering their poor performane to price ratio compared to single cards, and the fact that the 6800GT will currently run any game (well, any of the latest games I've played) without breaking a sweat.

Why should it (afterall the 6800GT PCI-E is the AGP with a bridge chip)?

If he goes AMD64 with a Biostar 210P it will take his AGP card.
