    Weird bootup problem

I put in a GFX card to test it yesterday......it booted, put the PC hung at after identifying the CPU. Now whenever I boot up, with whatever GFX card, the PC identifies the CPU on screen, then waits about 45 seconds before doing anything, then boots up perfectly.

Basically I have aa 45 second wait that I didn't have before - even getting into the bios muct wait for this.

I have tried resetting the BIOS, and updating it, but no joy...any ideas?

What card did you put in? Did you have an ATI in then put an Nvidia in to test? Or the other way around? Or are the chips the same?

Sounds like you need to flush the non-volatile ram. I had a problem like this once, Dell walked me through the solution (involved some hex editing in some horribly hidden low level bios shell or something) but it was a long time ago and almost certainly system specific. Try the m/board manufacturer for info on how to do this.
