    Exclamation Which Lappy?

Please help me make this decision

I need this for pretty much everything, I do have external HDs that I can use, I also want to do light gaming e.g. (Halo 1 & RTCW ET). I will be running a couple of OSs including live CDs (so memory).

I can never remember what DVDRW± the + aand - part mean. Why are they different? Does it have something to do with whether it's dual layer or not?

I will be ordering this tommorow (probably) so please vote and advise. Please don't suggest others either.

    Right one vote atm!

I am quite set on this, it has shared memory unfortunately and lacks wireless and bluetooth built in. Has only 1 PCMCIA Type II, s video out. But it is the same price as the 1362WLMi, and yet has better reviews (along with better battery life) and I have bluetooth and a wireless card anyway.

The XP Home doesn't bother me (along with the FAT32 partitions) as I will be totally formatting and Pro-ing but a review suspected a hidden recovery partition, should I be wary of that or just wipe it?

Please help me, I am stuck on the decision. It's looking like the Turion (and it's a very very decent price).

I would go for the 5002LM, looks nice, big enough hard drive and turion cpu. Althouh personally I would save up a tiny bit more to get a laptop like this but with a dedicated graphics card - none of that integrated mallarcy. Even if you dont play games I still find integrated laptops poo to work with sometimes.

Your call though. Perhaps the 3022WLMi would be better actually. It all depends how much battery life you need I suppose.

It annoys me, each of them have their own best parts, with extra bits, it's just a dual layer burner, turion and 60 gig for 550 I can't really resist

integrated GFX will be fine for most 'older' games, ive got some poop shared mem intel gfx card in my thinkpad (R31) and it copes fine with HL1/TFC, Civ3, quake2 and just about quake3, but throw halo at it and it falls over and dies (wont even install)...

That said the FX5200 is just as bad, doesnt really count as a gfx card...

I reccomend the Acer Aspire 3022WLMi, its X600 should manage halo and more ok
