    whats better

    74Gb Western Digital Raptor

    Vs

    250Gb Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 (7200rpm,16MB)

As you can see the Maxtor has 16mb cache.....the WD has 8mb. On the other had the WD is 10k RPM and the Maxtor is 7200k

I am aware the WD is super quick, but when it comes to value for money, is the maxtor that far behind really?

    Lets hear your thoughts people.....

    better for what?

if its a speed comparison you want, the raptor is better (fastest)

if its a 'which can store the most data' comparison, then the Maxtor is better

its a bit like comparing a ferrari and a land rover!!

www.storagereview.com should have detailed analysis of both HD's.
