What does somthing like 128Mx64 and 64Mx8 mean in terms of memory

Im currently looking for a memory upgrade and i've seen numbers such as the above listed in the specs of alot of memory modules. What does it mean and does it matter. If it matters which is better.

128Mx64 means 128 megabit chips times 64 bits, which is 128 times 8 megabytes, or 1024MB (1 1GB module). So then, 64Mx8 is a 64MB module.

I'd say most people believe 1GB is better than 64MB.
