I've always been an Arctic Silver man.

Either AS5 or Ceramique. Coolingshop is good as shipping is free.

    lol

i'm using the arctic silerncer ultra 64 which is a variation on the hsf you linked to. even tho im only using it as a temp until i can afford an xp-120 im not that impressed with it. it is pretty quiet- not amazinly so, but it'll do- but during games my temps rise to the 50's, dunno if this is normal on an a64 clawhammer as ive only just got one. although i think the one you linked to is slightly better.

on another note arctic silver 5 is my gunk of choice too

I have that HSF on my cpu. It's not bad, I thought it would be better considering the size.

Ok then, what HSF for the money, and it must have the paste with it.

why must it have the paste with it? as-5 is only about a fiver and is worth the minimal outlay.

xp120 seems to get great reviews all round but it's pricey at £35 without a fan.

what about this its £48.76 but you do get an xp-120 a very good fan an a tube of as-5 and a zalmann fan mate to vary the speed and it includes postage.

divide it up and i rek you get:
    £35 for the xp120
    £7 for the fan mate
£10-15 for a decent quiet good cfm 120mm fan
    £5 for a tube of as-5
    £postage

so it seems like a pretty good deal?

Anyone know where to plug the mic and headfone plaug things from the case front pannel on my mobo? ( cant find this in the manual)

Do i need to connect both power plugs on the fans in my case?

Also, the led connectors on my motherboard are different to what they are on the actual board.

    On the board
    . . . . . . . . . .
    . . . . . . . . . .

    in the mannual

    . . . . . . . .
    . . . . .

It tells me what they are in the manual but i dont know where to plug the connectors! Anyone can help?

It also shows the power led as being three pin whereas mine is 2 pins.

I also have a "+" and a "-" connector, im confused. Other than that its all going swimmingly.

makes me laugh that even tho you havent mentioned you mb once in this thread we still know its a lanparty ultra-d

there should be a set of pins which are labelled in your instruction booklet with 'front audio'. i'll have a look on the website, but it should be pretty self explanatory.

edit:after looking at the manual from the website, its not that clear afterall.

i found this listed in the specs "1 front audio connector for external line-out and mic-in jacks (on the Karajan audio module) " if it helps. looks like it could be behind the block of connectors on th i/o panel?
