Terratec DMX 6Fire

I'm speccing a PC for my dad, and one of his requirements is for a capacity to transfer his old vinyl records to CD. He's a musician, so reasonable quality is a must as is ease of use. I've been looking at using the Terratec DMX 6Fire and was wondering whether anyone here had used it and had any comments on the hardware and the bundled software?

Any answers appreciated.

Terratec Aureon Space 7.1 soundcard that I had was excellent.

The only problem was that the optical output was only activated when there was sound and there was about a 500ms delay which meant the beginning of all sounds was cut off - EXTREMELY annoying - which is why I ditched it.

Good to know, thanks. Optical isn't going to be a problem, I think - he's not going to be using it.
