    SN41G2 GFX Problem

    Hello all,
just converted over from a monster P4 system to the SN41G2. It's very lovely and hopefuly when I've finished very quiet but the GFX are crap.

I'm using the onboard chipset and I'm finding the monitor colours look bland. Tried upping the refresh rate to 75Hz (1024X768 @74Hz) which appeared to help a bit but now I find when I'm using IE6 that some web sites come in with tiny(very small) blurred text. The blurring may be caused by the size of text. This forum seems OK (ish) but others that are a bit more Teky let's say are barely readable.

    Any ideas??

I've run 3D Mark 2001se a few times and the GFX looks good.

I've updated the GFX driver of off the Shuttle web site.

    Pete

PS If I fit my TI4200 in the AGP slot will it disable the onboard GFX?

Make sure you have no speakers around your monitor. Other than that i'm not sure what to suggest...

A gfx card inserted into the AGP slot will disable the onboard graphics.

Thanks for the reply but I'm almost definite this is a windows setting thing or some type of XP problem. I've just swapped over to a 17'' TFT and its the same. Some sites are a lot worse than others. Hexus appears to be almost as I remeber it on my P4 rig.

Anybody got any ideas as I'm stumped.

have you downloaded and installed the latest detonators from Nvidia ?

While your there, pickup the latest nForce drivers too...

If that doesn't fix your problem, flash the bios to the latest revision too...

    Hi
Try this to see if it improves your text,
right click on your desk top and click on properties then appearance then go to Effects, tick the box that says use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts and in the box underneath it change it to cleartype, click ok then apply and you should see the text become more clear.

    regards, gaz

    Cheers Gaz,
but I've solved it know. It was the simplest of things. It was just the text size in the view menu was turnee down to smallest. Turned it up to largest and bacvk to normal.

    Cheers anyway.

    Pete
