    Centrino (M740) Vs Desktop CPU's

correct me if im wrong but im on the understanding that Centrino (in particular the M740) CPU's operate on a scale equivalent to that of the desktop?

What is the M740 (1.8ghz) the equivalent of in Desktop CPU's?

    At a guess (I have a 1.5Ghz Centrino based lappy), the Pentium M740 would be about a P4 2.8Ghz speed (533FSB flavour).

Remember that Centrino is just a brand name for certain MB+CPU+Wireless.
