ICE cooler in tower
My Shuttle motherboard in my SN45 recently died, after the funeral. I decided to stick all the bits into a ATX case on a cheapo motherboard in the meantime until I decide what to do.
Does anyone know if it is possible to convert the ICE cooling system to fit onto a normal motherboard . By normal I mean one that does not have the screw holes to attach the heat pipes block, is there any way of attaching a clip to the block?

You could if your lucky find a motherboard with the holes and find a nut to fit underneath but I wouldnt recommend it. Just get an new cpu fan they cost under 20quid :)

I would have to say 'why'. Sell on the ICE and use the money to get a good socket A cooler. ICE's go for good money second hand as modders always break them ;). In a full ATX case a normal cooler will perform better.
That said it WILL work if you have a nut and screw setup on your board as I have done it (custom mATX rig but the theory is just the same).

But it will be cool if you want to mod it yourself, I would consider it :)

If your motherboard is socket 478 it's directly compatable. If not then using a support frame with cable ties MIGHT provide enough tension to keep the cooler on but it will be ghetto and will require ducting to make it efficient.
