    Laptop Spec - Latitude D610

I'm guessing this is a very good price for this machine, as well as being decently specced. RAM is 1x 512 as the owner will add their own from Crucial rather than paying Dell prices for it. If there's any glaring omissions then feel free to point them out. I think everything's covered though.

Good that you've gone for the 1400x1050 screen; lovely display. Are you sure about not including the insurance against theft or damage? If that's your client's choice then fine, but he might want to consider it as an option. Also, if you're configuring it for him, it makes sense to grab the Asset Tagging Utility and use that in combination with locking the BIOS.

It's his choice. He's pretty sure it's covered under the house insurance, but for what it costs from Dell it's probably worth adding on, rather than paying excess on house insurance.

I'll speak to him about it later.

Make sure he knows the Ts & Cs though; i.e. where the laptop's covered against theft and where it isn't.

    I've revised it for a 7200RPM hard drive - no point having DDR2 and a 2.0GHz Pentium-M with a slow hard drive.

And the notebook for where he uses it will be covered under his insurance policy - it will either be with him, or at home.

Job done then. Looks a nice spec; we issue the D610s as standard, the D600s were nice but the extra USB ports come in handy.
