    Who hasnt gone 64 yet?

Thinking about this yesterday, and wondered who has/hasn't and why.

I haven't, upgrading my pc has been my number one priority of late, but i hope to upgrade in the next few months

I'm sticking with my Mobile Barton at least into next year. If I bought the cheapest Athlon 64 (which I can't afford), I don't think it would provide a particularly good performance boost over what I have now.

Still got an XP2400 running at 2700 speeds. I think it's a combination of lack of funds, can't be arsed, don't need it, and waiting for more to be available cheaper. Lol.

My current PC does everything I need it to quite well

I usually upgrade around the time the numbers have doubled and the prices have dropped a bit. So from 2500+ Barton to 5000+ X2 shoud be quite an impressive upgrade. I would like new hardware to play Morrowind Oblivion but I don't know if I can wait that long. Also I'd like to see if there is a return to low power consumption desktop CPUs from Intel. I have more than enough games from various sales to last out the year and possible longer. Some of the games are fairly recent titles and these have all played OK on my 9800/CRT.

P4 3.0 Presser @ 3.5 Next upgrade will be either FX55 or a X2 4400 depending on how much support for dual core there is.

Still running XP3200 - I suspect I'll hang fire for around 6 months and see how the market looks then, since my current box does what it needs to fine.

    1.7GHZ P4 :-)

Don't really have any need to upgrade. I've got loads more things I like to spend my money on. If I upgrade my PC, all it's going to do is enable it to do things slightly faster. However, I spend it all on PS2 games, other electronic gadgets and toys and travelling around, which I enjoy more!

I'll probably upgrade when Longhorn comes out :-D

XP2000 at 2.2GHz here (normally 2.3GHz when it's cooler) with a softmod 9500. Much as I'd like to upgrade I really can't afford to, and this computer is still fine for anything I use it for, so I'm not going to get further into debt just to get a notionally faster computer. I'll start saving up soon with a view to getting a S939 Sempron 64 and a video card that's a step up from what I have (E.G. a s/h 6800GT or X800, or the 7600 when it comes out).

    I have twice. Went from a Mobile 2500 to a 3700+ Claw, to a 3400 mobile.

The difference was pretty noticable between the 2500 and 3700. I could really only run my 2500 at 2.2ghz properly, and at 2.6ghz when i clocked the 3700 it flew.

Far cry was the biggest difference, at least 15 frames more in some cases.

Suppose it helped me having a X800.

I think more to the point....who's understands and is getting an advantage out of 64bit at the moment.

I think you'll find that a short list of users
    It is Inevitable.....

got a 2500+ barton here overclocked to about 3000+ speeds. my next cpu is likely to be an X2, I will probably go for a new case mobo and gfx card at the same time and pass this on to my wife to use as her comp. I dont find my current comp struggling much but I would like to play games at higher res with full AA etc

What do I need 64 bit for? System does everything I need at the moment and I refuse to be sucked into the 64bit rush and paying through the nose. Will move 64bit in a few years time if need be.
