    Hi & welcome to Hexus.

What hardware have you got to go with it (e.g PSU is very important not to skimp on) & what do you primarily want to use it for?

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

As in thats what you have now... Or thats what youve upgraded to. If i was you i would go for an Asus A8N SLI- Delux. And the fastest Venis core AMD 64 you can get with your money. If you only have 400 dollers you might not get any speed sugnificant increase from a p4 3ghz. Yes they multitask "good". Providing your PSU is a good brand then i would expect that 420w will be fine. Is it 24pin, if not you will need a adaptor or new psu.

If you've got $400.00 US that should get you a 3700+ San Diego and an A8V (assuming you want to keep the X800 Pro).

I'd say a 3700+ SD on a ABIT AV8 3rd Eye would be more of a bang.. cheaper... much higher NBB ceiling on a VIA board.. ASUS on VIA is an ultra fast stable board on stock speeds.. but OC stability seems crucified. MSI Neo2 Plat would be another good one... also EPOX 9NDA3+... but pretty pricy (80 quid odd) cs of the Nforce series reputation.. and yea.. assuming you want to keep your X800Pro AGP..
    Me want Ultrabook
