    Sn25p + Gf6800gt + Pn15?

    Greetings fellow SFFers!

My SN25P is going to be a mean-if-hoover-like-gaming-machine. I hope someone can help with a couple of questions!

    1. The Gainward Geforce 6800 GT fits, it works enough for windows, but it needs extra power. No cable was included with it. Can I unplug the second power lead to the motherboard and use that (it has the correct 6 pins) or should I buy an extra molex to 6-pin cable and use that instead?

    2. Anyone know if the PN15 wireless adaptor fits this model?

    Thanks for your help!

Love it so far.....it does sound somewhat like my wife cleaning the house with a hoover, particularly with the GF6800 GT. I would rather it be cooled by 6 fans than by 2 though.

I have an sn41g2 v2(?) PVR as well, but the speed of this thing blows it away. Gotta love the Nforce4/939 Athlon64 combo.

Anyone help with the power problem? Someone has suggested removing the second power cable from the motherboard (apparently it's redundant power in case the mobo isn't getting enough from the ATX connector) but I have no idea if this will work or not.

I would get a cheap molex 4 pin to PCIe 6 pin adaptor and leave the existing ATX12 4 or 6 pin plug firmly in the Shuttle board .

To unplug such leads from a Shuttle is to tempt fate, trust me .

Fairly sure the wireless fits but I will check when I get home and update.

I think you could be right. My mate with a S939 SLI Nforce4 says he didn't plug in the second power connector. I have a feeling that things could be different as far as a Shuttle is concerned. It came plugged in and probably should stay plugged in!

One thing to note for other users is the PCWorld and Maplin don't sell these cables at all. I found that Scan (www.scan.co.uk) stocks them so have ordered one from there.

I'll update thread with some information once it's fully powered and working. Thanks for your help so far!

I apologise for bumping this, but I could still do with an answer to the second question.

Anyone know if the SN25P will take a PN15 wireless .11g module?

    Many thanks...

That said I am sure I have put a PN15 in a P series Intel Shuttle.

Mind you the card is really tosh, get a good PCI WiFi or USB and mount it inside with some modding. The PN15 drops it's connection all the time (known bug) and has Shuttles usual level of support (i.e. none ).
