You can't. >1024x768 is not possible for a 15" TFT.
And I guess you want to make a cheap projector. Am I right?

A projector is right.
But its a portable one so I can go round to schools and use it on their OHPs

Yes it is. What about those laptops with insanely high resolution panels? Dell Inspiron 5150 for example

How about a LCD panel from a laptop? I know I can rewire them for DVI. Just need to find a supplier
AFAIK you need controllers. Which cost hundreds.
