My upgrade, ram first..

at the moment, i have 512mb (2x256) Corsair XMS3500 rev 1.1 which is very nice ram, but i want 2GB to play BF2.

im not to fussed about the brand, but wouldnt like any value stuff.

how much is mine worth, and what ram shall i get, any advice appreciated.

There's nothing wrong with value RAM, so long as it is from a decent brand. I use Corsair Value Select, and I think it is far better value than other low latency stuff.

Two inexpensive 1GB sticks would probably be your best bet.

There's the bloke on ebay selling 1GB sticks cheap, look in the shopping forum.

Your current ram isn't worth much. I'm not very sure what used PC parts are going for in the UK, but I would guess you could get 30-40 pounds, at best, for your current memory.

If you have another computer that could use it, thats where I would put it.

As for the new memory corsair value select (VS1GB400C3), the cheapest mushkin PC3200 1Gb dimms, or crucial, would be a good choice. Any reputable brand PC3200 1GB dimms would do really. I am not familair with UK/european shops however, so I don't know where you'd get them.
