    Mouse Mat

Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy a nice mouse mat, for gaming. Don't want to spend more than £15 though, and don't want anything made from steel or glass, and it musn't slide about on my desk.

I'll be using an MX700 on it. I like the look of the X-Trac one reviewed recently, but on http://www.dexsystems.net/ there are four mats there, and I don't know what one to go for. (I don't want the huuuuge one ).

    Any advice?

    Cheers guys,

    Dawson

i use a ratpadz witha mx700 and its a nice peice of kit
it felt a bit "slippy" at first but now ive got the mouse set up
nicely now and it feels really good just remember to wash it with soapy water every other day it has pads on the bottom of it as well so it doesnt slide about on the desk

ratpadz are horrible. i currently use a speedpad (not a v god pad, but it was free), also used loads of other mats. the everglide ones are much better than ratpadz and theres quite a few others that are better aswell...

mats dont slide around on desk.. if they do put some bluetak of somming on the bottom. more impostant is how well the mouse slides on the mat - for opticals as much as possibble is best, for gaming anyway. i use a razer boomslang 2.1k which imo is the better mouse but needs friction with the mat to turn the ball.

ratpadz is rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe, it also collects a lot more dirt than others, so it needs washing very often

I like the look of the funC, but, can I buy one without the Alienware brand on it? I'm away to have a search. OcUK have them, but for £22.99, and probably another £10 for delivery, thanks, but no thanks.

Also, my gf wants a new mat too, so she'll be getting the same.

I think I heard something about people put their alienware fUnc pads in the washing machine to get rid of the huge logo. You'll have to get someone to confirm that, but if it's true, go for that one :>

I use an everglide giganta smokey doodah (the dark one), which I bought from kustompcs.co.uk. Cracking pad, but the knobbles on it have scratched the bottom bits of my MX700. I'm thinking to go with the black icemat next... feel like a change

Again, Alienware thanks you for your business.

What.... I've just ordered online... entered all my details, and still, someone has to call me to confirm my order - just for 2 mouse mats? Fair enough for a £5,000 custom system, but for a couple of little mouse mats?

    I'm cool enough already

It's just me, I have an inbuilt snobbery to Branded PC's for some reason, always have, since I was able to build my own about 8 years ago when I was 12. But saying that, the Alienware stuff looks damned sweet, if a tad expensive. Can't wait for the mouse mats though

lol I use 99p plain black fabric, as found resin abit too slide and I would pul abit on the mouse and mis shots. Also being completely plain I have no tracking issues.
I've heard some people swear by old copies of The Edge. What ever you do don't buy a thermaltake alu pad, unless you need something to rest your tea on.
