MSI boards... what do you guys think?

    personally, i cant stand them...

at first glance, you see them and think, whoa, loads of features, onboard this, onboard that... but at the end of the day, they should be like other companies and stick to making a decent motherboard, and let other companies make the addons, coz they stuff they put onboard isnt worth the stuff its made out of.

im not saying all this without reason. i have had 3 MSI boards and they have all failed within a month of putting together. and i also have friends whereby have asked me to upgrade, and the MSI information available is abysmal.

stick to Abit / Asus In my opinion.

    all round better boards.

I can swear by them. Built about 7 comps with them ALL have been flawless!

Maybe the problem is with how your putting them together/using them

nah, its not that, they were all faulty boards and the customer services are terrible.

ive been building computers since i was 12, so i know it wasnt how i was putting them together.

Did you research the models on the net before your purchased to see if people were having any problems with them?

msi do have a bit of a dodgy rep in my eyes.

personally id always try to buy another company over them, but syaing that my sis has an ancient KT133 based board from MSI and its flawless.

I've only used one recently, and that was an 875P board that fritzed out. Replaced with an Abit equivalent which has been running 24/7 for MONTHS. Only thing I had to do with that was Zalmanise the northbridge.
