I seem to remember either CustomPC or PCExtreme magazine doing a roundup review recently. The only problem is I can't remember what issue (or mag) it was in. It must've been sometime this year and I'm thinking it's more probably in PCExtreme. Did I dream it or did this roundup actually exist?
Budget wise I've been looking at one of the new Tagans, but Ideally I'd like a PSU with a fan that'd sit above the CPU space aiding heat extraction.
the ocz modstreams have a 120mm bottom fan as do the Akasa psus
Could get one of the seasonic S12 PSUs with 120mm fan above CPU, decent voltages, very effcient and therefore very quiet
Hiper PSU's have dual fans, well most. Mine has 2 9cm fans. And a good fan controler.
Tagans have dual fans but they are at the front and back of the psu. On my Tagan they are both 80mm.

i just recently bought the new akasa 650w, its only got 80mm rear 1 fan but it produces alot of noise
Don't forget Tagans are BTX compatible - it may be some way before we see plenty of BTX motherboards, but a decent PSU can last years. I think if the fan is on the bottom, then the PSU can't be BTX compatible.

My Tagan 2Force has dual fans front and back, and very cleverly, a grille on the side. The only snag is it's on top, so it's next to useless. Whoops...

Thats for when it's used in a proper BTX system them. I think the PSU's are located at the bottom of the case...

There's a PCB 1cm beneath it covering the lot, so it's pretty useless however you orient it. :\
