Do Samsung still not do anything bigger than 200GB for their IDE hard drives?

Its been a while and i've filled up another 200gb drive recently, bought a seagate but i don't like it so i'm looking to sell it to my brother and get another samsung, but would be nice to upgrade in capacity too while i'm at it.

I think its the same, p120 is the product range iirc. Nothing to do with the size

P120 could possibly mean 120gb per platter? Ive no idea what platter sizes are upto now...

Ebuyer and ocuk are the only shops I remember that sell samsungs, both not doing above 160gb..

Anyone know why theres not more shops with samsung drives..?

the "p120" relates to the model number. and the p120 series only got released a few months ago.

Seems like the 200GB is still the better bang for buck drive then? I would have thought it would have changed since the half-terabyte drives came along.

Got my spinpoint 160GB IDE a few months back for about the same price as that 200GB

I bought the equivalent 200GB seagate drive and i can tell you it is not quieter, quiet disappointed really. All this time i've been hearing people rate seagate above samsung for noise.

And speed doesn't really matter to me in my situation as these are just external data drives

I find that hard to believe being the owner of both samsung and seagates, the samsungs are defo quiter then the seagate.

Performace wise the seagates just edge out the samsungs.
