    A good buy? Aopen XCcube + Sempron

    XCcube
    Sempron 2600+
    512mb RAM
    160mb HDD
    DVDRW drive
    GeForce 4mx 32mb (onboard I guess) not that it matters, I have a spare GF4 ti4400 for now

    All in for 300quid?

    not sure if you mean you are pricing it up or not.
    Anyway i recently built a media centre (mythtv) box with the same (but bigger hd and standard dvd rom) for a bit less than £300 and am very happy with it.

    You could probably buy it for a little bit less but for ease it sounds ok price wise.

    I have to say fitting the components was a doddle though.

    My kids have a P4 XC Cube with a 2.6C Northwood, 6600GT etc and its great, noisy when the temps rise though...

    That is a reasonable price if it's well built but putting it together from components should cost a little less.

    A lot would depend on the quality of the components (Make of HDD/DVDRW etc.) as to it being a good deal. The XC Cubes can get a little loud under load also without modding.
