What can I do with this rig

P4 2.4 GHz
mobo ECS P4VXASD2+
384 MB DDR PC2100 (256 + 128), all slots occupied
Geforce 2 Ti 64 MB RAM
80 GB Barracuda

I want to make this rig faster in windows apps. Will replacing a 128 MB chip with 512 PC3200 change a lot? What else can I do for this rig to speed it up? Any overclocking options? Thx in advance.

ps. any possibility to make this rig BF2 ready? What graphic card would be enough for some minimum 60 fps gameplay?

i think you be looking to upgrade to a good 1gb of memory and around a 9800 pro or 6600gt card to play bf2 tbh.

You could run BF2 but not very well even with the upgrades mentioned, and throwing money at that rig is not a good idea. You're best bet is to sell it to a non-gaming type (it's fine for what most people do) and get yourself an A64 and a decent videocard (at least a 6600GT).

Your processors fine but you need more memory (512Mb+) for windows apps and a better graphics card (9800Pro) and more memory (1 gig) for BF2. I am not sure your mobo will take DDR 3200. I would look around for a decent socket 478 board (£35) the are some bargain Intel 865 chipsets around.
