    Which keyboard and mouse

    Hi all,

I'm after a new keyboard and mouse, and my requirements are as follows:

    * Needs to be wireless, I need the option to use both from bed when need be.
    * Needs to be rechargeable, the mouse anyhow. Don't think rechargeable keyboards exist.

The best looking desktop combination I've seen is the Logitech DiNovo 2.0. The real bonus with this set is the detached Media Pad, I can take that to bed with me and control movies, music etc etc. It even notifies of new mail or instant messenges, so cool!

However, the DiNovo is very pricey, and for that price tag I would have expected the MX1000 Lazer mouse to be included in the package.
Instead, the DiNovo 2.0 comes with the MX900 mouse.

Presumably, it's not possible to get the DiNovo keyboard and media pad, with an MX1000 mouse?

    What would you guys recommend?

I see you have range as an issue, if your intending to sit in bed. You can either buy a remote to control your media functions or as you said a wireless desktop combo. Gyration setups appear to have an outstanding range in comparison to this Logitech Cordless Desktop MX [with MX700 mouse], but this is more than adequate for me.

I will however, be going back to wired soon because I have no need for wireless anymore. I'll sell you this if you want

If I sold you my Cordless Desktop MX it'd be cheaper than buying the MX3100

Gyration mice are ace, but not cheap IIRC. Keyboard/mouse combo £100 last time I had my hands on one, I think.

Get the Logitech MX510, simple, not too many buttons, not too little. The ultimate gamer's mouse.

The MX3100 really does look like a good all round purchase. The only reason I'm swaying towards the DiNovo is the Media Pad.
It seems like a choice, Media Pad or Lazer Mouse. hmmm.

Whats the best deal around for the MX3100 at the moment?

It may be worth noting that the DiNovo is Bluetooth and has a much longer range than normal wireless keyboards / mice.

I was thinking about that too. My bed isn't miles away from the TV, but it would be nice just knowing I'd never have to get up.

Another point is, I have a wireless router, wireless FM headphones, mobile phone, sky TV and probably a few other things in my bedroom, are any of this things gonna end up interfeering with one another?

I'm currently using a Microsoft Natural Pro keyboard and Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer mouse, I'm happy with both and never had a problem, but they're not wireless which is what I need now. I first looked at Microsoft's wireless products, as I've been happy with my current stuff, but none of their wireless stuff seems to be rechargeable. My brother has a wireless MS desktop, and he advises that it's annoying when the mouse runs out of batteries.

I have a ton of stuff that I expected to interfere (wireless router; wireless bridges; MX1000 mouse; wireless keyboard; cordless phones; mobile phone) and I've never had a problem.
I'll try to add my DiNovo into the mix over the weekend. I've never used it much before because my KVM switch only uses PS/2 connections. I've just bought a stupidly expensive (£50) Belkin 4X4 USB Peripheral Switch that I hope will get round the problem. Will let you know how it goes.

I'm in a state of shock. I've just ordered myself a Logitech MX3100, and the cheapest place I could find was...wait for it...PC World.

£69, I'm gonna pick it up after work this afternoon.
