my disks are ritek -4x ones, havent really used many but ritek are best known for quality. dont get princo disks (datawrite/datasafe brands). i get disks from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk which list what dye is used, so u can aviod the crap quality princo ones...
Those DVD±RW are just getting cheaper and cheaper... Oh, how I wish someone will make one with SCSI interface...

Suppose down to personal prfrence i had a few problems wiv my Pioneer so thats why i rate my sony so high another thing i h8 about the pioneer is the 2mb cache where as the sony has got a 8mb cache so u can do alot without messing up ur burning
Lee
erm... 8mb cache in a a cd/dvd-rw, isnt that a bit much???? thats more than both my hdd's put together!
i doubt having 8mb over 2mb affects burning much atall... aslong as ur drive is burn proof/buffer underrun protection.
but for £37.99 my 4x dvd-rw burner was a bargain... but ive not yet used it more than 10 times! (had it a few months!)
some one explain why SCSI interface would be better for a dvd/cd writer... they use nowhere near the max ata133 bandwidth... not too much cpu overhead either... why would u want an scsi one!!! it wouldnt be any faster! just cost 2x more!
It suddenly becomes very convenient when you've 8 HDDs and 3 optical drives already... See sig.Originally posted by |SilentDeath|

heh! wtf do u need 3 or 4 optical drives? MASS DVD COPYING??
I only just got mine the other day, great drive and no coasters just yet Using Princo brand media..backed up some games and movies. 4x write is fast enough for me.
i've got some bulkpaq orange tops waiting to be used when my 105 arrives.
bulkpaq (orange) and datawrite/datasafe and all other disks using princo dye are suppost to be very, very crap, any coasters yet?
i use ones with ritek g04 atm
