By default WinXP simply restarts upon errors rather than supplying info or BSOD. You could have problems with PC3200 esp generic (yuk) as Asus nForce2 have been known to be a little pickier, always best to seek out something on their approved list (assuming they have one). You will almost certainly find your mobo wishes to run the RAM at 400mhz (PC3200) whilst keeping FSB at std XP1800+ 266mhz ... sounds good? Well it isn't, slower and quirkier, almost ALWAYS best to keep things sync'ed (KT333/400 being the exceptions). Change the default of running RAM 'By SPD/AUTO' to 1:1, 3:3, PC2100 with 266FSB, PC2700 with 333FSB etc. Also as Volcano points out, you need to reinstall Windows when you change something like a mobo as there are plenty of specific drivers and settings for your old mobo installed. Fresh install is ideal, rerunning setup and keeping your files is fine though. Insert WinXP CD, boot from it then answer NO to the first recovery prompt (otherwise you get Recovery Console) and YES when you are prompted for recovery/fix a 2nd time (should be obvious).
So long as you have FSB=266mhz (2x133) then yes, just be sure you have RAM speed set to AUTO/SPD (with PC2100) or 1:1 (etc) to ensure it does run in sync. You may also want to use safer slower (higher) RAM timings (or NORMAL vs TURBO / FAST).
