Shuttle fining it tough in the summer!

My poor old SN41G2 shuttle is struggling in the weather, I had the shutdown temp disabled but the shuttle still powers down on 60 degs.

The idle temp is around 58 in this weather which is still a little hot. Does anyone have any ideas about getting this shuttle running at a lower temp? I see in the bios there is an option of another fan but where would I put that?

Any ideas will be welcome! – including bios tweaks… how should I set the system health status up?

You don't say what CPU your using. I used to run my SN41G2 + 2600XP 24/7 with SETI and even during the record temp summer 2 years ago, it would sit at 59 degs all day, with no problems. May be time to resit the CPU with some fresh Artic Silver and give the ICE system a good cleaning. Dust won't do your temps any good at all.

Air-can that heatink, replace AS5, cut rear grill then replace fan and shroud with external 120mm fan (panaflo, papst or nexus). That will knock probably 10-15 degrees off your current temps and make it much quieter.

yeah i was thinking of cuttning that grill out! sounds like a good idea... and you reckon sticking a 120mm fan on the outside? as well as the 80mm one ?

Remove the rear grill it's evil and has awful airflow.
Clean the ICE radiator fins, dust bad m'kay.
external 120mm OR internal 80mm, both would be a bit OTT.
Make sure the side vents arent blocked, needs colder air coming in to replace the hot air exhausted.
