Calling WD scorpio 2.5 inch HDD owners........

.....I've got one (80gig) in my dell 9300 and every so often it clicks and spins down then the light stays on, then it spins back up again??? Its driving me mental as it seems to happen at random times, and seems very clicky and clunky anyway. As this is my first Lappy i'm wondering if this is a usual thing for Laptop HDD (power saving feature) or if mine is knackered and needs to be replaced.
    Cheers

Have you checked the powermanagement options?
(under screensaver settings, then power button)

if its doing it whilst its being accessed, then its probably a faulty disc.

Talk to dell. I've heard they often swap it out for a seagtae if you moan enough.
