    2.66Ghz (505, 505J and 506) on LGA775?!?! Any Good?

I've just realised that there was actually a sub 2.8Ghz P4 available on LGA775. Its clocked at 2.66Ghz with no HT and no nothing.. It does come with a new speed step protocol tho.

I was under the impression that its just a refurbished 2.66 Northwood with a LGA775 facelift... Any ideas?

Nah, they're Prescotts. They're cheap and overclock well, although it's a shame they don't have HT.

nah.. just wanted to sort it out.. never, ever and not even thinking of buying an intel at the moment..

I know one of these guys in the office that u just want to really take a cricket bat and whack his slimy face till kingdom come.. Always bragging how Intel is all good, and AMD is always the underdog... he's even convinced that his old PIII is more reliable than my A64... had him over for dinner over the weekend, and it was Intel brag all the way till dessert, he also brought up this 505 and 505J series P4s and vouched that AMD's golden moment is coming to an end.... bla bla bla...

I'd rather crucify him, hang him up on a big intel badge.. and carve 'BEEYATCHH' on his forehead.. I'll be sure to poison him when he comes over for dinner again.. I never wanted him to come, it was all my girlfrens idea...

I did actually dreamt of stuffing his face in petrol and made him drink 2 gallons of methanol... enuf said...

Why not just invite him to take you on in a benchmark competition if you're that bothered?

i think he's worried that he might have liquid nitrogen cooling, and the thing clocked to the moon and back. Best benchmark i've seen is my Athlon 900 slot A processor with 128MB 100MHz SDRAM outperforming a 1.4GHz pentium 4 with 256MB DDR233 RAM. thats quite a bit of difference.

well... if he'd be able to make a claim like a measly PIII was faster than my A64, you pretty much certain these ppl don't have any logic for starters... even if I did invite him for a benchmark competition, he'll always come up with silly excuses which'll burn down ur throat but too timid to shout at them because they're your research supervisor...
