Intel's New Chip?

When is intel's new chip suppose to be released? Should i expect a price drop across the board for cpu prices ( amd and intel) over the next 2 months?

doubt it, its just being released as a responce to the AMD FX-51.

Probably in Dec. when they relesae the 3.4Ghz P4, if its a prescott or not, i dunno. As for a "significant" price drop, i wouldnt think so, although prices do drop on the run up to Cmas.

I would expect a price drop around end of Nov / start Dec but I doubt it will be A SIGNIFICANT one!

Oct 26th is price cut day, as far as I can tell Sooner than you think.

I am an IPI. The price drop day is Oct 23rd according to Intel.

from what i have read prices on intel chips will drop 15% accross the board

There will be another price drop in Feb next year. You will be getting a Prescott 3.0 /1M CPU for the same current price of the 2.667 /512! Pretty cool.

Ive heard that there might be a little price war on the horizon depending on AMD's move. Other than that just the usual reductions

There always is this kind of 'talk' when manufacturers release new CPU's, they declare a price war. I doubt the drop will be very much, maybe a few dollars.
