    Overclocking a 3000+

I'm having difficulty overclocking my 3000+ Winchester.
It's running on an MSI Neo2 Platinum, with 2x512 Corsair XMS3200, and is powered by a 480W Thermaltake Purepower. It is cooled by the stock heatsink and fan, but I have good case cooling and it runs at approx 34 degrees at stock.
I am using MSI's own CoreCenter to overclock it, and can get it to about 218 x 9 (1962) before it locks up.
Do I need to start increasing voltage or fiddling with any other settings in order to get it any higher?
Or is there a weak link in my hardware?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, don't think so. I had a check, and I don't have an "on/off" option for AGP/PCI locks, but I do have the option to change them independantly, and so they appear to be seperate to the CPU frequency at these settings.

PCI should be at 33mhz, AGP at 66mhz

I dont know anything about that ram, but im guessing it doesnt want to go higher than 218mhz.

Either loosen the ram timings, increase the ram voltage then try and go further. Or more sensibly try using a divider on the ram.

I am new to overclocking but I gathered some info off the net and tried this and it worked fine. It was not my computer so I could not try anymore. He has cheap Infinion ram,and a 3000 winnie. I set that ram as 333 and clock at 9x245(2205) and it worked fine with no great rise in cpu temp. Whether I did it right or not I dont know. I am sure somebody will show you(and me)a better way.

Thanks. Graphics are dying on me at the minute, so more pressing issues before I continue fiddling, but I'll have a go later and let you know how I get on. Thanks!

Dont use core centre to overclock. Primarily use the BIOS, but also try clockgen (google for it) Depending on what version your RAM is, you'l have to run it at a divider.

First run it slower than the HTT, find the max HTT then try and find the max memory speed an compare benchmarks
