Sweet new SD card!

Just noticed this on The Register. A SD card with an integrated USB plug that is no bigger than a standard SD card . I wouldnt have thought it was possible.

Looks like it could come in pretty handy though .

I saw that on G4TV last week and thought it was pretty cool as well. Alas, I bought a normal SD card for my camera last month.

Presumably its near enough a mini sd card with usb attatchment which makes it more believable. Great idea though.

Thats amzingly cool.
- Although i seam to make do with a £3 Lexar card reader most of the time!

That's 50% of a great idea.

All that remains is to scrap the connection on the SD side, develop portable devices that use a USB2 port for their memory expansion, and then we can stop faffing around with 24 different types of proprietary expansion "standards" (and counting.)
