    USB2.0 PCI Card Trouble

Got a VIA USB2.0 PCI card and it doesn't seem to like my ancient PCChips M575 motherboard.

The mobo has USB onboard and is an ALi chipset (TX Pro?). Even with it disabled, with the PCI card in two of the four PCI slots the system won't boot, and in the other two I it doesn't complete the NVRAM check so I think it's having trouble assigning resources to the card.

The BIOS is the latest (1999). I think I'm stuck with this one, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

The card works as I just tried it in another machine, which was able to enumerate it successfully.

    You could try another card.

Did you try clearing the cmos then putting it in?

Other then that could be an incompatibility with the board, i know some of the All in one (CPU, VGA, LAN etc...) boards didn't like some cards.

That's a gem of an idea! Alas the system in question is my gateway so I'll have to schedule some downtime later tonight to try that.

If that doesn't work I'll find someone who has a card with a different USB controller chip and swap (hopefully)
