    USB pen drives

hoping this is the right place for this, its sort of relevent so it probably is.
I have a 512mb pen drive (kingston data traveller) and deleted everything on it, yet there still is 128mb (or there abouts) used up with 200-something free. wtf...?
is it best to format as NTFS, Fat32 or just fat. whats the difference?

Depending on the model it might have something like a separate secure partition on it? I know that the Datatraveller II has such a facility.

I have had this problem myself and did not look into it very hard because i just did a 'quick' format. I don't think you can format a USB flashdrive as NTFS, so FAT32 is probably your best bet.

Fat 32 for compatibility with linux & windows 98/95 machines would get my vote.
