    Which Storage?

I have an 80GB SATA hard drive in my shuttle at the moment which is getting rather full, thanks to modern mega GB eating games and a few of my CD's converted to WMA or MP3s. Anyways, I have a 6800GT and one of the knobbily bits (transistors I think) is obscuring one of the SATA ports, so I can't add another hard drive. So do I go for:

    1. A new 160GB SATA hard disk, and fleabay the old one (or sell to some unsuspecting member in the for sale forum)

    2. 160GB Buffalo Linkstation (this one)

Yes I have a network at home so it wouldn't be a problem.

Just wondered what your thoughts would be.

how obscured is the SATA port? you could just get second drive and a 90 degree SATA cable
I'm using 90 degree power & SATA cables in my file server for a different reason, there are a exhaust fans about 10mm from the back of the drives.

eather that or 'adjust' the "slick out bit" of the card.

    Otherwise, it depends.
    - Do you want to share the files with of PCs on the network?

I'm a 'boys toys' type of guy. Which is why I leant toward the linkstation. Hmm, 90 degree SATA cable ... might just fit. We do have a 'server' on the network, but I would probably use the linkstation for my stuff and ghost backups.

Buy a 250GB Seagate SATA HD and be done with it. Dont try modding etc as you may invalidate your warranty etc or buying some USB2 external HD.

Dont forget Seagates have a nice 5 year warranty on them and run virtually silent.
