    Memory

Could someone explain... or point me in the direction of a guide/article that explains memory timings please?

It's one thing I've never really got my head round.

    Thanks all

    Thanks!

Can fiddiling about with memory timings kill the sticks? Or just make it [the system] unstable?

(I'm re-learning all of this in anticipation of getting my OC rig up and running)

If you're going to OC, winbond or TCCD chips are the best. You may have to ring to confirm the chips though

    thanks hun!

This overclock already carries a "tiggerai" warning anyway... hence I'm doing it 3 years late when I can afford to run 2 rigs...

I have done it before... just a bit rusty!

Dougal... thanks for the reccommendation... but the memory is coming out of my dev box... 2x Corsair XMS that i've had for years but only ever run at stock.

What sticks are your corsair? The old XMS1.1 PC3200 and PC3500 are bh-5 - the winbond ones recommended by Dougal. Mine run 255fsb at 2-2-2-5 with 3.3v, which is about average.

I'm still trying to get my Adata DDR566 TCCD stable at 600-2.5-4-4-7 1T 2.72V. It prime stable for 90 minutes (blend test) then freezed (didn't say fail)

EDIT: Seems like CPU not getting enough juice. Now running 400-1.5-2-2-5 1T
