Actually, I almost ordered the NF7-S2, but it was only when I noticed the lack of soundstorm, did I realise something wasn't right!

Got myself up to speed now! Phew!

    Dam it!
    - I read this thread last night, and tonight as i was surfing hexus, the pc died! (went like it was about to reboot, but never came back)
    - Looked at the mobo, whole line of borked caps.

Is this stuff in contgous or what?

The board is Epox 8RDA+, which i read is well know for the this prob.
    - If its just dodgy caps thats the problem, is it (in that case) worth taking the mobo to a TV repair man and geting him to swap them out? (he did all the eletrolitcs in the vcr last year, for £30incvat)

I think the Asus A7N8X Deluxe v2 is the best overall socket A mobo.

The abit is the best for overclocking tho.

    Great one Pyle

mmmmm. leaking electrolyte. Anyone here placed a huge voltage backwards over a fat (PSU size) capacitor. Kaboooom with a huge puff of highly toxic smoke.

CAUTION! To All Epox Owners: Borked Cap Bug in the open!

Man, thats not good! Thats basically the same board as mine. Your problem sounds worse than mine though. Mine would still attempt to boot up, and even succeeded sometimes!

I don't see why your vcr man couldn't do it... I guess anyone could do it if they can solder and have the right caps. But is it really worth it? You could get a brand new board for a bit more than £30. Well thats the way I looked at it anyway.

    Good luck!
