My spare PC had the EPOX 8kha+ board ... starting randomly rebooting recently... after the usual virus and spyware checks decided to look at the hardware. Found that 4 of the caps had bulged. sounds like i've got the same problem as your machine. Hmm do I replace mobo or the whole lot ...
Yahoo, this PC is back alive!
- As you said Shaithis, its was fine, i did "found new hardware" for about 10mins then demanded a reboot. But that was it, not works 100% as it did before.
- Except the NB coolers is annoying the hell out of me, so ive wacked up the sound system, and im not checking my order to see where that zalman has got to!!
- And i had to quickly upgrade all my AV progs and there all 4weeks old!
Anyway,
- I still havent got a new Gcard for it, so thats still on the cards (see the pun) as its so stupid having this PC with a Geforce2 in it, even if it the GTS!!
- I still have the nacked 8rda+, which i will eather replace the caps of, or flock it on ebay for somone else to swap the caps.
Daniel (happy again)
Epox mobo's used to be great oveclockers back in the day, but a lot of the later SktA ones like the 8RDA & 8RGA's had a lot of problems with duff capacitors. In my opinion you're best just replacing your mobo if you're happy with your PC as it is (and the NFS is about the best replacement).Originally Posted by farooqm
Having said that, if you have the wedge for a new PC then go for it, spend, spend, spend! .
