hi guys firstly i would like to say hi to all and you have got something pretty good here.

i have £1000. i have a fatality sli mobo and a bfg oc 7800 gfx card.
i may be able to add another 500£ aswell. any suggetsions?
another thing is i need some recomendations on water cooling kits.

Hey dude - you'll need to let us know if you need absoloutley everything - mouse keyboard speakers etc, or just CPU RAM PSU etc

A company supporting an overclocked pc and freedom to choose the system, lucky you. Whats this pc going to be used for then? It looks suspiciously like its going to be geared towards gaming.

Id say X2 4400, An L1980Q for tft goodness, For water cooling Kits, then you cant go wrong with Waterchill gear, as far as individual components go, is it for low noise? High performance looks? For Ram go with Crucial Ballistix 1GB sticks, at least 2.

lol yeah it is for gaming. and work. but mainly gaming. the water cooling is for performance. waterchill is asetek isnt it?

It is yeah. If you want all out performance, then dangerden is the way to go, unless you can find a source for one of cathars blocks. But its not a kit.

I'd save a bit by getting a 3800+ X2 when they're out, the watercooling will let you OC it to almost the same as a 4800+ X2, shows your skills off a bit.

For HDD, make sure you get either a raptor or two for your OS. And alarge SATA II drive for storage.

If you want to really look flash have a look around for LCD front panels, or get hold of a PSONE screen and mod it into the front of the case.

Defo agree with herulach, you'll need (if you don't like load times) 2GB of good quality stuff.

Raptors really arent worth the cost IMHO With SATA 2 and NCQ and everything, modern 7200 rpm drives can match everything other than random seek times at substantially lower costs. And since Raid 0 can actually increase seek times then you loose your only real advantage.

Yeah, but why spend 100 pounds to shave 3-4 seconds off of boot time? Unless all you do with your computer is reboot constantly, I can't see it as being worth while.

I agree. I plan on getting a Samsung SpinPoint for my next rig because I want it to be silent.

Yup, get the spinpoint. Quiet, reasonable performance and available in 300GB (I Think)
