Kv8 Pro - Keeps "crashing"

Hello,
Sometimes, all of a sudden (normally just as i click a mouse button though), my screen goes blank (the "no signal" type blank), all music stops, I can't do caps lock on my keyboard (doesn't respond), and I can't get "back into" windows again - i have to restart.

This is happening too often...

Specs :
3200 Newcastle (@ std speeds)
kv8 pro
Asus 9600xt
512mb corsair value select ram (pc3200)
512mb twinmos pc3200
WD sata hdd, and another make IDE hdd (forgot make. but it is a well known one, not generic rubbish)

This keeps happening... Only set up the computer yesterday

What are your ram timings set to? Make sure theyre set right for the slowest stick of ram. Try running memtest, also try the test utilities for your hard disk (available from manufacturers website) How frequent are we talking?
Hows your cooling? Is your heatsink seated correctly?

Have a look in the event log? HDD should give bsod not black....try new mobo/gfx/sound card drivers?

Hi,
Looked in event log (under the windows xp admin thing), nothing in there.
I have tried different gfx drivers i think (not 100% sure if they were different...) but it has made no difference.
CPU Z says my timings are 2.5 4 4 7.

I havn't tried anything to do with my hard drive.

Everything, apart from the mobo/cpu were used on a a7n8x-e dlx for over a year before, and the only crashes i ever had were because of too many programs, or the slight modem driver error. They all work fine i think - i am sure its the mobo really. I updated the bios drivers though and the problem is still here.

The KV8 Pro is a pretty solid mobo but it's going to be hard tracking down your problem with no clues.
Are you using the latest VIA Hyperion drivers?

What PSU? AMD64 boards need more power than an Athlon XP system particularly on 12V rail (18A seems to be the minimum sort of recommendation with 24+ preferred).
