Your thoughts about the new ATI MB's that are coming out

What do you all think about the new ATI boards that are coming out? Do you think they will be as good or better than the Nvidia MB's? I am looking to upgrade soon and I am searching the web for some ideas as to what to go to.

I currently have an NForce 3 board, which hasnt been a bad board. I do know that I will stick with an AMD proc...going with an AMD 64 of some type. Im ready for an upgrade..as my system is about 2 years old now.. I cant even play BF2

    Can't even play BF2? I'm on Socket A and have a 9600, and I can play BF2 fine.

Anyway - here are my thoughts on the new ATi motherboard: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=50607

Well I've had 2 MSI RS480M2-IL both suffering from SATA problems & then a Jetway A210GDMS-Pro, SATA problems but also persistent locking for no reason :S. The an MSI & Jetway went back to the shop and for 30£ (15£ each time) I got the guy to check the entire system out, he confirmed everything as 'non-faulty' however was unable to get 'resonable performence' from the system with the ATI based boards. Needless to say I'm NOT impressed, with these mATX solutions.

Personally I'd plum for a high-quality nForce4 board, they're a known quanity and the nForce solution is maturing well now, I'm back to using an Abit AN8 and getting great performance.

it's actually kinda disturbing that now you'll have to go all the way with either ATI or nVidia since they're going to each provide separate platform solutions to run SLi (I even heard that future ATI's will not work on nForce due to crossfire issues ATI refuse to handle).

    oh well,
I'm always for nVidia, so -- at least the choice won't be so difficult!

How can people know that future ATi's have issues?

Surely future ones aren't out yet?

ATI should be able to iron out its mobo issues before actually releasing the board out for retail.. (anyone remembered Volari V8? hahahahahahaha... *breathe*.. that was good)

But at the mo, the features arent that impressive and the specs given are pretty dodgy TBH..
    Me want Ultrabook
