Speakers
Hi all
I plan to set up this
PC Sound (whatever the onboard with dfi ultrad is)
To a amplifer
To 2 speakers.
I plan to have the 2 speakers eitherside of my monitor
Its just, I have a crt so i get all funky purlpe stuff when magnets go close.
I was just wondering how close can a magnet go to the pc tower with out causing problems?

i would say about a foot (30cm) with speakers. you can get speakers that are shielded so that it doesn't effect anything else.
-
I never had much trouble with mine and they were only about 15cm away. I had to degauss every now and again but it wasnt too bad.

If you are still in the choosing of speakers stage then get some that are shielded. But otherwise a foot is a good distance although doing it by eye can also work.

okay, Got it all sorted now, but the amp is making a faint huming noise :S, any ideas?

Check connection interface on both ends.
How are you sending the signal?.......RCA/Coax/Toslink?
Does the amp hum when there is no signal being sent to it or all the time?
Check speaker connections and cable paths(interference??)

are you sure its the amp humming? make sure your mic and line in are muted in the volume control, that gave me humming before...
